BLU Educational Foundation, the premier college access organization in the Inland Empire, is building its team for the future! We are elevating our mission to provide educational and human services programming to youth, adults and organizations in order to build healthy, productive communities.

 

We are recruiting a team of professionals dedicated to this mission, who aspire to be leaders, are entrepreneurial, confident communicators, emotionally mature, and committed to the long-term success of the Inland Empire.

We are recruiting for the following positions: 

College Advisor-Mentor

The College Advisor-Mentor will be responsible for the implementation and case management of a college prep program targeting Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other underrepresented youth. They will provide individual and group leadership, guidance, and support to students in all aspects of student life, including academic and personal issues. The College Advisor/Mentor will provide college and career planning support to students, parents, and organizations throughout Inland Empire communities, schools, and colleges.

College Success Advisor (student position)    (Coming Soon)

The College Success Advisor (CSA) will assist with implementation and case management of a college access program for Inland Empire students. The CSA will provide college and career planning support to students and parents virtually (via phone, email, text and online) as part of a regional College Success Initiative.

Communications & Marketing Specialist

The Communications and Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing BLU Educational Foundation’s communication and social media strategies. They will be responsible for creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, fostering community engagement, and enhancing the overall brand presence. The Communications and Marketing Specialist’s creativity, strategic thinking, and passion for digital marketing will be vital in achieving our communication goals and promoting our company's vision.

Executive Administrative Assistant

The Executive Administrative Assistant’s (EAA) primary role is to support/organize the CEO, ensuring they are focused on leadership and strategic priorities.   The EAA reports directly to the CEO and serves as the right-hand; keeps them abreast of their management priorities on a daily basis and makes sure they are prepared for all key responsibilities and interactions.

Closed Positions

Career Advisor

The Career Advisor will assist with the implementation and administration of the career access program. The Career Advisor will provide career planning support to students in BLU’s youth development program, at local schools, colleges and community organizations. This includes working closely with students for career development including career assessments, exploration, professional readiness and mentorship. This position requires experience or interest in youth mentorship, workforce development, and case management.

Career Partnerships Coordinator

The Career Partnerships Coordinator will assist students in obtaining experiential opportunities and employment in business and industry. They will be responsible for developing relationships  with employers, nonprofit leaders, senior executives, start-up owners, among others to successfully place participants into career opportunities. The Coordinator will provide ongoing retention services to support both the employer and the BLU student. This position requires someone that has experience in workforce development, community partnerships, case management and/or sales and marketing.

Community Partnerships Coordinator

The Community Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for developing relationships with nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, businesses and other community service groups to provide a system of support and enrichment opportunities for youth and their families. The Coordinator will work with BLU staff and partners to coordinate opportunities to increase college access and program participation. This position requires someone that has experience in community partnerships, project management and/or sales and marketing.

Director

The Director assists with managing the overall operations of an educational and racial justice non-profit organization, including, but not limited to, organizational and financial management, personnel administration, short- and long-range planning, public relations, communications, and external relations. The Director is also responsible for the quality and effectiveness of all services and will report to the President & CEO.

Male Involvement Youth Leader

Male Involvement Youth Leader will assist with implementation and case management of a college prep program for African American and Latino youth in San Bernardino and surrounding areas.  The Youth Leader will provide college and career planning support to students and parents in the College Exodus Project at local schools, colleges and community organizations.

Male Involvement College Advisor

The Male Involvement College (MIC) Advisor will provide college and career planning support to students, parents, and organizations (virtually and in-person) throughout Inland Empire communities, schools, and colleges. The MIC Advisor will also engage Black and other People of Color to increase the power, voice and leadership in their communities to advance educational and social justice. 

Program Assistant

The Program Assistant will provide program and administrative support to BLU Educational Foundation as directed by the President & CEO and provide support to other staff as assigned. This position requires a flexible and professional individual who can take initiative, manage multiple projects and can work independently to complete assigned tasks and projects. The Program Assistant must be comfortable working in a diverse team environment and have a demonstrated commitment to social justice and community engagement.

Community Outreach Associate

The Community Outreach Associate will engage parents, students and community members to increase the power, voice and leadership of communities of color to advance educational and social justice. The Associate will conduct outreach to parents, students and community members via phone, email, text and door-to-door canvassing regarding education, college & career access and parent/community involvement in schools throughout the Inland Empire.
