STUDENT SUCCESS RESOURCE FAIR: A POWERFUL MOMENT FOR COLLABORATION

A MILESTONE MOMENT FOR BLACK STUDENT SUCCESS

Last month, the Black College & Career Access Network (BCCAN) hosted our first-ever Student Success Saturday: College & Career Access Resource Fair at San Bernardino Valley College, and the impact is already unfolding.

Altogether, nearly 100 students, families, and community members attended. By engaging with 15+ resource providers, this fair created a vibrant space where students could explore opportunities across college, career, and wellness pathways. Just as importantly, it showcased the true strength of our network: CONNECTION.

THE POWER OF BCCAN IN ACTION

This fair was more than a one-day event; it was a real-time example of what BCCAN is all about.

One of our BCCAN partners, Alpha Phi Alpha: Mu Xi Lambda Chapter, connected directly with a student at the fair who is now an active participant in their Alpha Future Leaders program. Because of this connection, that young person is gaining access to mentorship, leadership development, and a supportive community.

In addition, Alpha Phi Alpha connected with another network partner, Loma Linda University Health – Adult Sickle Cell Services, and they are now exploring collaborative efforts to reach and serve the community together.

These are the kinds of meaningful relationships and ripple effects that demonstrate the power of BCCAN.
